eResearch training and skills
eResearch enables better research through the use of information systems, communication technologies and collaboration.
eResearch skills include understanding:
- eResearch methods
- technology familiarity
- research data management
- collaboration tool usage and awareness
- ePublishing
- shared environments
- compliance, and
- information literacy.
It can also include cyber-infrastructure knowledge such as
- networked instruments
- data sets
- visualisation, and
- modelling software.
eResearch competencies include the development of new lifelong learning networked resources, and understanding of new knowledge communities and networks that take advantage of computational infrastructure to provide new learning experiences.
So you would like to become an eResearch expert?
Melbourne School of Graduate Research conducts an eResearch Workshop Series each semester.
This seminar series aims to familiarise graduate researchers with skills, methodologies, tools and issues to enable them to participate effectively in the new eResearch environment.
